Naturally Innovative: Ecoforest Offers the Widest Range of Air-Source Heat Pumps with Natural Refrigerant

The ecoAIR+ PRO range consists of four different power ratings for air-based heat pumps, from 1 kW to 18 kW. Ecoforest air-based heat pumps rely on natural refrigerant, offer a wide operation map, a dedicated defrost technology (DDC) and hybridisation with solar energy.
Current regulations limiting the use of F-gases (HFCs) drove Ecoforest to choose propane (R290) as a reference refrigerant thanks to its properties and a reduced environmental footprint. The ecoAIR+ PRO range consists of 4 different power ratings, from 1 kW to 18 kW: In addition, there are different interior modules that offer increased flexibility when selecting the ideal heat pump for each project.
Why is Propane (R290) the Ideal Refrigerant for Air-source Heat Pumps?
Propane (R290) stands as a highly functional natural refrigerant with a low environmental footprint. The GWP is a relative measure of how much heat a greenhouse gas can capture in the atmosphere. Propane (R290) has a GWP value 700 times lower than F-gases and has a positive impact on HVAC equipment carbon emissions, reducing them to almost zero.
In traditional air-source heat pumps, the DHW production temperatures are between -50ºC and 45ºC without auxiliary support. Thanks to the use of R290, heat pumps can produce DHW with temperatures above 70ºC. This makes the ecoAIR+ PRO range suitable for retrofit projects where old radiators need higher working temperatures.
A Dynamic Defrost Cycle (DDC) & Hybridisation with Solar Energy
Ecoforest is characterised by innovative solutions and the ecoAIR+ PRO range is no exception. All ecoAIR+ PRO heat pumps feature the Dynamic Defrosting Cycle (DDC). This technology avoids stopping the compressor during defrosting, which results in a faster cycle.
The ecoAIR+ PRO has an integrated energy manager: the ecoSMART e-manager. Ecoforest heat pumps can store the energy surplus production from the PV panels which results in more independent installations. Ecoforest also enables easy management of the heat pump with the ecoSMART Easynet, which enables full remote control of the installation by the installers.
